Birthdays, Teeth and Aspirin.... Oh My!

Here's what's been happening in our neck of the woods.

First....Shaun's Birthday

We all hid behind the counter, and jumped out to surprise him when he came home. The kids had fun decorating. Days like this are the most exciting things ever to the six and unders. :) We made his favorite chicken curry for dinner, and opted for Harmon's version of his requested German Chocolate Cake. I wasn't sure I could pull it off and have it taste OK. Didn't want to kill off the birthday boy during his celebration. :) I'm not sure why the boys love to make these poses in every photo, but looking back at the last few months, they are doing karate moves in almost every one. Makes me laugh. We had a great time, and KNOW we have the best Dad and husband ever.

On to TEETH...

That night, Zach lost his first tooth. We have late teethers in our house, and so we seem to have late 'losers' too. This tooth had been loose for over a month. At the suggestion of pulling it, we would find Zach........

It finally came out the night of Shaun's Birthday. He pulled it out himself - with one jolt. So exciting! He had waited so long that the permanent tooth was already in all the way behind it.

The very next week, he lost tooth #2.

And there are the new ones.

And then a little Aspirin...OH My!

Our cute neighbor made this cake for Shaun after surgery. So cute! A few months ago, we discovered a lump next to Shaun's spine, on his lower back. It turned out to be a benign mass, that was gratefully removed in same day surgery and without complications. We sure began to count our blessings again and again. His recovery was fairly quick - he just doesn't slow down no matter what. :) We are so grateful for small and amazing blessings......oh yes and CAKE!

We set up a bed in his office for a few days of premium TV watching, and computer access and recovery. This little one made it her permanent spot next to Dad....for at least two days.

.....and all is well in Freeman-ville. :)
